How do I get my film developed ?

  • Dos Fotos currently has four drop box locations - One box is local to the Chicago northwest side with our friends at Plant Shop Chicago- 4601 N Elston Ave Chicago IL, 60630. Second drop box is located in Logan Sqaure at Four Letter Word Coffee - 3022 W. Diversey Ave Chicago, IL 60647. Third box is located at Side Practice Coffee - 5139 N Damen Ave Chicago, IL. Fourth location is at In Good Spirits - 858 N Ashland Ave.

  • Place rolls in a Ziplock bag or envelope with your film types, name, email & phone number

  • Purchase the service per roll

  • We currently pick up ALL film on Monday morning and Sunday evening for In good Spirits - our current expected turnaround time is one week from Monday pick up- please note that we are a small operation, and we do care about handling your film with love <3

  • You’ll receive all photos via a WeTransfer link, link does have an expiration date for you to download all photos.

  • Photos are by default sent as JPEG (Tiffs may be requested if preferred.) Additionally if negatives are not needed, they will be tossed after scanning

We Accept & Process Disposable Cameras, 35mm film, and 120 film

Color Film (C-41) + Black & White Film

At Dos Fotos we are a 2 person operation that hand develops and scans photographic film. We handle your film with attention and care to process everything properly.

About Us

We would first like to thank all of our amazing friends, family, and supporters who have shown us nothing but love and respect in the First year of establishing Dos Fotos. Our goal with Dos fotos is to be accessible for everyone and anyone who wants to enjoy capturing moments on film. The resurgence of film has been a beautiful thing to see come alive in all its forms! We want to contribute to this movement by ensuring quality work, fair pricing, and building up our Chicago analog community. -

FAQ

  • Yes we absolutely do- however no promises should be assumed when we are given old/ expired film

  • We currently utilize a Pakon for 35mm and a flatbed for 120 film

  • No, our lovely friends and hosts at PSC, 4LW, & Side practice are not responsible for any questions about our process or procedures.

  • Through an online service called WEtransfer. Fast and reliable file sharing. It does have an expiration date once files have successfully been uploaded for customer to access.

  • Yes, we develop most film stocks including Cinestill, Ilford, Fujifilm & Kodak.

  • At this time we do not offer prints of any kind but who knows what the future holds.

  • We currently offer a 1 week turn around time. This may change in the future depending on the volume of business. Quality is our priority and any changes to turn around time will be updated on our website accordingly.

  • P.O box possibilities coming fall 2024

  • To send you back your negatives :)

  • We will eventually offer a once a month development service for slide film- but at the moment we are not.

  • No. Unfortunately, we just do not have that kind of time. It would be really unfair to us if suddenly most customers wanted this same service because we wouldn’t be able to fulfil so many meet ups. We are a two-person operation while still maintaining full time jobs, and a family :)
